Jason Hsu, LCSW (California)

My name is Jason Hsu. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a therapist.

I am honored to be a co-founder of Sound to Sea Therapy Co-Op. My life experience inspired me to come up with the idea for Sound to Sea Therapy Co-Op. I am of Taiwanese ancestry. During a time where Taiwan was under occupation and colonized by an Imperial nation, there was scarcity for basic needs like food and shelter. Jobs were hard to come by. My grandmother took it upon herself to start her own small business which over the years expanded into many businesses. This led her to be able to provide for her family, children and grandchildren (I am one of ten). While I cannot imagine how difficult it was to be an Asian woman business owner during that time, I thought I could help create an organization that can support this generation of Asian Americans, women, and people of color.

I began my career volunteering at women's sexual assault and domestic violence center as an undergrad. I have worked with many underserved populations in different capacities prior to moving to private practice as a therapist. I have 20 years of experience with clients. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at UC Davis and my Master's in Social Welfare at UC Berkeley.

I have many years of experience working with clients through depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders and trauma.  I have experience working with the following areas, although if you are looking for a therapist who specializes in one of the areas listed below, another therapist may be a more appropriate fit: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, IPV/DV (Intimate Partner Violence/Domestic Violence), Bipolar Disorder, Substance Use.
